So if add 1 to 1.5 inch insulation / soundproofing and lay over 1/4 to 1/2 inch plyboard it should be close enough to the support edges to square it...

    At markets near me (NW england) 6 are between 4 pounds and 6 pounds depending which I go to so I would say 7.50 to 9 maybe 10 pounds a dozen would be considered good. Boot sales may be a good place also.
