    Hello from Somerset!

Bertie & the Chooks - They join up and post spam around the forum - when we spot the post, we ban them and remove their posts. It just happened to be this post they chose to spam with a couple of others. Periodically, I'll go through all the banned users, check the IP address to make sure they...

    Turkey has flu like symptoms.

Unless this is a secondary infection caused after a weakening by Blackhead then I'd still say Myco. Yes, Turkeys can get Mycoplasma and so can Ducks / Geese /Pheasants / Partridge / Quail. Mycoplasmas are species specific so your Turkeys / Chickens should not get cross infected. The organisms...

    Turkey has flu like symptoms.

Sounds like Mycoplasma Galliscepticum to me. Treatment is the same though - you can't get rid of it, just the secondary infection which comes out as infection in the upper respiritory tract / the symptoms you're seeing. You will need to visit a poultry vet for a propper diagnosis and they will...

    New here

Hello and a warm welcome! Hmmm it's quite a common story. Breeders often don't want to take back cockerels - they usually have to kill them and if they swap them with a pullet, they have the cost of them to rear and (in fairness) there is very little money in poultry breeding on a small...

    Hello

Hello there fourpekingducks A warm welcome to the forum. I hope you enjoy your time here. Your ducks names sound very edible... ;-) Technically, I guess they may be Pekin ducks I guess but the English meat trade for Chinese restaurants call a cross between Aylesbury and Pekin 'Peking Duck'...

    Turkey rubbung off feathers

I know it sounds obvious but could it be the other bird feather picking? Have you seen him remove the feathers himself? The only other thing I can think of is depluming itch mite but this is very rare and I don't know a great deal about it.

Hi All Just registered!! Need help with my 20 girls

Hello and welcome. Yes, sounds like a respritory problem. Chickenvet wrote a great article on Respiratory Disease in Chickens and we made this into an FAQ on the forum. It might be worth reading although it sounds as if you are treating it now anyway. It's also worth checking the breast bone -...
