    Swollen rear end

I don't suppose they make a "smoked earthworm" flavour? ?

Only if she pinches my husband's when he's not looking! Still, at least vaping outdoors won't make the windows dirty...

Either he's hatched a lot of Salmon Faverolles or his luck is terrible ?‍?

She'd better not set the aubiose alight...!

    Swollen rear end

Nibbles, one of my ex-batts, has been putting a fair amount of weight on (though there's no specific lump or swelling around her rear end). I was googling ascites again last night in case that might be the cause. We've had a chat this morning. If it is ascites, she needs to cut out alcohol &...

That's awful ?. I know how much it meant to my mum, being able to die at home.

Love it ? One of the benefits of being able to afford to shop at Waitrose! (I confess to going occasionally, as their tinned mushroom soup is nicer than anyone else's. )

    Storms

It's apparently 9°C in Chipping Norton at the moment, down from 14°C earlier. They've not had much wind though. I've an ex-batt called Margot, named after Margot Fonteyn, as she'd only put one leg on the ground at a time when I rehomed her, as the floor was cold! I'm sure your rams will settle...

    Autumn Visitors

I hate to say it, but if she's been in a hospital bed for 13 weeks, deconditioning, then it's highly unlikely that she'll walk again. My stepfather was moved from Bournemouth hospital to another in Wimborne, Dorset, supposedly while he got strong enough to go home. They wouldn't allow him to get...

    Autumn Visitors

How far away do the next-of-kin live & do they have any idea about livestock? I guess that on the one hand they're hoping that she'll be home soon but on the other hand it's a bit much to just leave everything to Mrs BYM to take care of...

    800th egg!

Looking back, my post from 2017 shows how wrong you can be. Holly (one of my White Leghorns) turned out to be really affectionate & quite happy to snuggle up in my arms. She laid her final & 1288th egg on my husband's birthday last month.

I've got to admit that I couldn't have identified either of those. I'd never even heard of a veery!
