bloody dropping

I have had my most dedicated first-time broody just hatch some eggs. She did no droppings for 48 hours whilst they were hatching so today I got her off the chicks and she had a lot of trouble producing a firm dropping with blood in it. I'm a bit worried about her. Has she got something like piles from sitting too long? I hope she will soon stop sitting on her new chicks and get up and about again, but so far she is still sitting.

I wonder if she's dehydrated? But that must be fairly common if they keep sitting and don't get up to drink. Would a water bowl within reach of the nest be a hazard when they hatch? (I guess a water source close to the nest would only be natural for a duck)

Thanks for your suggestion Marigold. I'll give it a go. I've been trying raspberries so far in case she is constipated. She's much too good a mother!
