    Red mite prevention

Thanks, I use real creosote initially then spot check with it backed up with Diatomaceous earth , which I find very good. I’m always looking for a more user friendly product from the creosote so I will try your suggestion. I’m currently redmite free but you can’t ever relax

    Sprays to eradicate red mite

Been keeping poultry for many years and the best thing I’ve found is the old real Creosote, they certainly don’t like it. Take care how to use it , best on an hot day leave doors open to dry off , ok for spot application. Anyone with other solutions?

Best way to introduce new chicks to the flock

My birds are now mingling like normal now despite 3 black & one old lady brown, I really found it not a big problem. I’ve not tried with larger numbers but feel it should be relatively easy once they sort the peck order out.

Best way to introduce new chicks to the flock

collected 3x14 week Burford Brown pullets last Saturday, they have mingled very well with one Novo Brown old lady . They now are roosting together and out in the paddock on range, I can’t say they like each other , more of a tolerance , one of the newcomers being the boss girl.

    rats

My son goes to a large dairy farm down the lane shooting Jackdaws , the are swarming around the cattle stalls poluting the feed , despite this control they always keep coming .

    rats

Fat balls are now safe but you need to make rats very unsafe. Ratty won’t be on his/her own and they quickly multiply.

    rats

My Rats came as they do at this time of year, they seem to be in the maize fields until harvested, bait is very effective, they don’t last long . Occasionally I’ll see one dying but I think most die in their holes

    rats

Rats moved in a few days ago , tunnelling two holes , they found the bait , I kept it topped up , I filled the holes over now no more Ratty, looks like they died underground. This same procedure has been going on for years with me.

    rats

I routinely have poison bait boxes down and don’t have a rat problem.

    rats

I put rat bait down as a routine , at this time of year Rats tend to move in around poultry , it always works for me. Also for mice around the outside of house & garden shed
