Does adding a rooster to your flock encourage more egg laying?

Roosters are good for one thing. Guess that's why they are called "blank de blank of the walk!"

Do ducks and geese have teeth?

Talk about nightmares, a duck with a full set of teeth! Pretty sure ducks can have contoured bills that seem like teeth, but really just helps them filter food. I love feeding ducks from my hands, as it tickles as they are usually so excited to eating and quacking lol.

Uncle Sam Expects You To Keep Hens!

Growing up we had to feed/water the chickens and ducks before school. Took 5-10 minutes. after school required cleaning the duck pool/feed/water and giving them love. Probably another 15-30 minutes a day.

What do you think YOUR *real* cost of a dozen eggs is?

Holy crap! That’s outrageous for a price of dozen eggs. I can buy them from the local folks for $5-8 or even marketplace. I know we are in an egg run right now, but still…seems high. My target would be under $4

    Howdy Hey!

I'm Jan - and I'm from Florida, specifically central Florida. I picked up a few baby chicks as I thought it would be great for my pets to make me breakfast! I'm hoping to learn a lot from the community, so thanks for having me here!
