So, I have the set up, I have the money, I have all the bits and bobs required, but I still have no chickens... I was meant to be picking up some Pekins earlier this month, but then thought that maybe some hybrids would be better... And now, without sounding dramatic, nearly every waking hour...

Can anyone please tell me which, generally, are the smallest hybrid hens and which are the largest? And, if possible, which are the most docile? And...is it always best to start with three hens/pullets or would two be quite happy? Thanks as always!!

I saw a video online last night by a chap who's company makes wooden coops, and he recommended painting the inside with some kind of boat sealant to make washing out easier, and I presume to aid the fight against red mite... Anyone come across this? And, if so, what brand? Does it affect...
