Site Upgrade Questions, Comments, Concerns

We are LIVE on the new forum software. There's still some loose ends to tie up like old images and old links. Let me know here if there's anything you notice that needs my attention. The site should load a lot faster, operate a lot smoother, and allow for a much more modern, user-friendly experience.

I’m just trying out the photo posting function, with a random pic of the horse at the end of our garden This photo hasn’t been reduced, it’s 985 KB. Is that OK Josh, or will full-size attachments overload the capacity?

Please can you reinstate the "unread posts" feature? It allows us, if we log in, to get a list of posts that we haven't seen yet. It saves us from having to hunt through all of the boards to find them.

If you go to New Posts and then click on Unread, the ones you haven’t seen are in a separate section at the top of the list.

I can see "new posts" but not "unread". Maybe it's because I'm on my android phone?

When you click on New Posts it loads a table of new posts. You can filter that table by selecting "Unread only". Should work on mobile and desktop both.

Right now the ads are set to automatically display at a low frequency. I will be adjusting them as needed so if you see an ad that is particularly annoying or if there are too many of them, please don't be shy. Screenshots are helpful but just letting me know helps a lot too!

On the old site, regular members paid an annual subscription to cover hosting costs, and in return saw the site without any ads. As I said before, please don’t be shy about asking us for contributions, Josh, if this could be restored. There are a lot of ads coming up for me today and it makes a big difference.

So, are we doing away with using Tapatalk for mobile devices? Tbh, I am finding the main site much easier, even on my small phone screen. Tapatalk was doing my head in lately! Endlessly buffering or refusing to load at all. Nothing I did helped. Sometimes, it would load immediately, other times - probably about 85% of the time, I'd lose patience with waiting for it.

This should be fixed now. You're currently the only member of the group so let me know if the ads have disappeared fully.

All ad-free for me today, Josh, thank you - but as we all paid our subs at more or less the same time at the end of last year, I’m happy to renew now, to cover your start-up costs. The link to the donations page is coming up as 30 dollars - what contribution would you like in ££?
Maybe make the link to the payment site more obvious as well?
