Hi all, my ducklings (8) have started hatching. Two of them have started pipping at the wrong end. They have broken through the shell (a little) and so I need to know.......at what point do I start helping? Also does anyone know why this happens occasionally? Thanks, Marc

Hi Marc :) Congratulations on babies! I wouldn't like to give advice as I am not an expert, but there are lots of people out there who are! Have you tried contacting the British waterfowl Association? They are really helpful with stuff like that! They are on FB, Insta and have a very good website! Keep us posted!

Thanks for your reply. I contacted the very kind lady who sold me the Indian runner eggs and she gave me sound advice.......on the basis they pipped this morning I am to wait until tomorrow morning and if no change then start helping...taking away shell bit by bit an hour at a time and once their head is free to leave them to it. I have a silver appleyard that has just hatched so at least I have another distraction.
