A friend gave me these four Black Tailed Japanese whites. Margo , Clarissa,Bunty and Betty

Then I heard of a Sussex LIght bantam or is it Light Sussex who needed a home. I was quite surprised at her size .She is called Wanda.

Then Edwina a little black Japanese Silkie needed a new home as she had a gammy leg. I could not let them kill her so she came to live with mine.

Two white Pekins also found their way to me . Bertie likes these two ( only one in this picture). Beryl and Bertha .

I was told that Silkie's did not like living in a group so I thought I would let my first broody hen sit on ONE Silkie egg as a companion for my black one . My biggest hen with the smallest chick but she was a wonderful mother

However Tinkerbelle as we call her did not want to leave her mother . She now lives happily with all the rest

We also have Ginger Berties son

And Sandy his daughter

These were from one of the white Pekins eggs and Bertie of course.

Sonny another cockerel is Bertie's son with a Black Tailed Japanese .A very handsome boy with plumage like his mother but Berties feathered feet.

At the moment they live in harmony together

And the tiniest Japanese Partridge bantam not much bigger than a blackbird who I am told will not get much bigger

What an amazing, and interesting, collection, Dorcas. They obviously have some good tales to tell each other in the coop after lights out! Thanks for posting these lovely pictures for us to enjoy.

From one extreme to another. These are my latest residents .Two Warrens that I have called Henrietta and Harriet. Plus this pale coloured hen that I am told lays blue eggs. Would anyone know what breed she might be ?

Lovely photos, Pekin cockerels always bring a smile to my face. The blue layer looks like some kind of Cream Legbar based hybrid.

Poor little Edwina. No oil paintng is she? Fancy crossing a japanese with a silky! Just shows you need to be careful with crosses. Lovely pictures of the rest , especially that gorgeous little golden creole coloured cockerel.
