... they'd be great at rubbing in the fat with the flour. I went up late today to do the poo picking, after a well earned lie-in on a rare Saturday off.

Someone (probably Nibbles) had laid a shell-less egg & the girls had had all morning to scratch through the aubiose in the coop to search out and devour almost every last molecule of egg. In doing so, they'd mixed their overnight poo into the bedding better than any Kenwood Chef could give done... !!

We put newspaper under the perch at night, and wrap it and the poo up in the morning. One glorious day we left a whole newspaper behind, oh what fun they had with that next morning.

Until ten days ago I was pleased to find that four out of my five hens were laying every day. Then it dropped to 3 a day, always the younger ones.
When I went to get out more Aubiose today, I found out why.
Cloud had decided she prefers her own en-suite instead of having to muck in with the designer nest box used by everyone else!
So we now have plenty of eggs and Pippin can have one every day in his dinner.

I'd pop those into a bowl of water to see if they float, & pickle the ones that're still OK, for when you want a healthy instant snack!
