Hi Diezel, and welcome to the Forum. lots of people on here keep CPQs and will know more about them than I do. I haven't hatched any CPQs, only coturnix, but I found they were quite easy to hatch. I suggest you get a copy of Katie Thear's paperback Incubation and Hatching, from Amazon, see http://www.amazon.co.uk/Incubation-A-Guide-Hatching-Rearing/dp/090613725X/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1364494473&sr=8-3 - several available secondhand. This book has all the details about different species as well as good information about incubation and care of chicks. The only thing that people are finding different from her recommendations is that its best to incubate dry, ie add no water to the incubator until day 17 or when the eggs start to rock and chip. Too high humidity can adversely affect hatch rates.
Another book it would be worthwhile looking for is Practical Quail Keeping by Sarah Barrett. Sarah has raised hundreds of quails and really knows what she is talking about. She's also a member of this Forum, her username is Chookiechook. The book is showing as out of stock, but should be released any day now. See http://www.amazon.co.uk/Practical-Quail-Keeping-Sarah-Barratt/dp/1847974635/ref=sr_1_fkmr1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1364494867&sr=1-1-fkmr1
If your birds are young, you really need to wait until they are at least a few weeks older before collecting eggs from them for hatching, as with maturity the fertility will be better and the eggs will be larger and thus will give the chicks a better start. have you got one male and 3 females? We would love to see some pics if possible.
