Fox attack

Despite being in a run with 8 feet high deer fencing and chicken wire on top of that, a fox managed to get in and take a large hen this afternoon. What made it even more annoying was that we were around at the time. Why could it not stick to the plentiful supply of rabbits in the vicinity?

That's a real pity Minorcafan and sounds like it was an audacious raid. I had to google Minorca chickens as I hadn't seen one before. They look great - that white lobe and very sleek!
Do you think the fox went over the fencing or got under somehow?

How annoying. Bet she was one of your best hens too because that is the Law of Sod. Foxes never seem to take the old lazy ones that you intended despatching anyway.

No idea how the fox got in or out. We have checked right round and could find no signs and no black feathers. Hens are far too big for a buzzard to take and no one has seen any eagles around here either.

A mystery :)19
