Duck advice please

We’ve had chickens for a number of years and only recently had some ducks. I have two houses in the run to which the chickens have always stuck to one in particular whilst the other one remained vacant until we had our four new ducks.

I’ve given the ducks a fairly large fish pond in the joint run which they seem to love. When it comes to the nights the chickens always turn themselves in however the ducks don’t seem bothered at all.

My question is, should I go over and husher the ducks in or leave them to their own? The pen is quite big, has buried fencing with it being totally enclosed with a strong fishing net enclosure over the top.

If they're safe, which it sounds like they are, I'd leave them. Our ducks are almost impossible to get in a house (the two of us struggled for an hour sometimes before giving up). I don't think there's any benefit to putting them away and they'll make a proper mess of their house in no time.

Hi Olivia
My lot have to be herded in each night, but they get into a routine and like to stick to it.
I would say if your pen is predator proof from foxes, rats, stoats etc then they should be fine.
