Dry hatching

I have eggs due in a couple of days in the incubator, I've relied on broody hens for last few years, and can't remember when dry hatching if you add water towards the end.....my feeling was that the weather is so muggy at the moment that I wouldn't need to......just having a wobble now :? I have borrowed a hygrometer that is sitting next to the incubator and reading 60%. Can I assume it'll be the same inside ?
I meant to look all this up when I set the eggs, but been so busy , tomorrow never came  st

Definitely get the humidity in the incubator up, it'll be drier in there than in your room and it really matters. You can open the incubator as long as the eggs haven't pipped yet. Good luck and have fun with the chicks! :)

If you have been dry hatching then definitely add water for the last three days HH, you want that humidity up to near 70%.

Edit. Just seen this was posted on the 17th so a bit late from me. Hopefully everything is going ok with your hatch.
