Now here's a question. I have a Speckled Sussex cockerel about 1 year old. He is currently running with my hybrid chickens. I am incubating some Speckled Sussex eggs so if all goes well and I have a successful hatch......... I will keep the chicks in the warm for as long as needed but when I put them out can I move my cockerel to be with them ( and only them). My thinking goes that he is a big bird and there will be no dominance issues....or am I just optimistic! Any advice, experience gratefully received.

Not until they’re about 12 weeks old. In chicken breeders terminology such cocks are called schoolmasters. They prevent any falling out between the young males among your hatchlings.
But some cocks do not take to this role and can behave aggressively. So it is probably better to not mix them until the pullets are about 18 weeks old. As a single combed breed at about 6-8 weeks old you should have no trouble sexing the youngsters and disposing of the males.
