We don't have bins here, so no rubbish collection. The communal bins are on the way to town so you take your rubbish to them when you go to town. Unlike England glass doesn't go into the recycling bin but into specific bins for that in town or the dechetterie (tip). There were so many Brits in the Dordogne putting glass into the recycling that the local Mayor came out to each household to make sure they knew the rules. After that visit they still had glass in the recycling!! Fortunately those people have now had to go back to England.

Our glass doesn't go into recycling either in our borough, we have to take it to recycling in the town. We have friends who put it in the recycling. There is always someone somewhere

Glass doesn't go in recycling here either. You take it to "bottle banks" dotted here & there - most supermarket car parks have them.

We had a trip out into the Solent yesterday to view the USS Gerald R Ford. It was blowing a gale and raining hard, but we braved the top deck along with one other hardy soul, and miraculously as we got to her the rain stopped and we got some decent if grey photos.
She is certainly impressive, the beam of the flight deck is 256ft, 78metres, and she has 25 decks, and usually has 75 + aircraft on board, ranging from the latest fighters to surveillance planes, helicopters.
As we left the rain came down again, so we didn't get any pics of the ships guarding her as they just looked grey blobs in the distance, we had to look at marine tracker to work out what was what. We did get photos of two escort ships in the harbour, the Spanish frigate Alvara de Bazan, and the missile destroyer USS Hudner.

We went to Illuminature at the London Wetland Centre yesterday. It was very well done, especially the talking moon. the display was set around the area where they have a captive collection of ducks, etc and a highlight was a little group of duck that decided they were going to walk the trail as well and trotted happily alongside people around the route.

The hot chocolate with marshmallows was very nice as well.
