Well we'd like to see the jumper anyway - could be the ideal boredom buster! No extra calories and the hens get exercise jumping up and down!

Very nice! Does it make a racket in the washing machine? I've developed a real dislike of those metal ends on things like tracksuit drawstrings, because of the way they clatter around in the washing machine.

Who doesn't. I hate the toggle on the ends of fleeces doing that. Tend to wash the jumper inside out, as it needs ironing on the inside

I wash everything inside out as it helps preserve the colour and is likely to pick up stuff in the machine. It's the one thing I'm fairly organsied about - anything with a mark that needs stain removing spray goes in the linen basket right side out so I know to look for the problem.

I am good at sewing things, I always sew missing buttons back on my shirt, and any other minor repairs.

I have created several tapestry's and embroidered things. Learnt that when recovering from double pneumonia many moons ago

Now you mention it, I recall you telling us about your needlework before. Tailoring was traditionally done by men, so I see no reason why you shouldn't excel in embroidery & tapestry. My grandad used to make rugs...

Have you ever tried lace making?

My father learnt to knit when I was very small. He was a better knitter than my mother; much more even tension. I still wear a cardigan he knitted for my mum about 20 years ago!

Grandad was a very good knitter, he learnt when he was in the naval hospital after having his appendix removed. He said quite a lot of sailors that had been hospitalized carried on knitting when back on board ship
