Here's an idea for Margaid and LadyA (and any other cat lovers.)

Might have to resort to that if 6 year old Pickle won't stop guarding the cat-flap (and any other door I open) so Smokey and Oscar can't come in!

OMG! Some of them appear to have little handrails (paw rails) which is obviously a bit of overkill, but at the other extreme some of them appear to require the cat to disappear down a tube (not sure how it is supposed to get back!) My SIL has a plank from a planted bank to her first floor bedroom for the cat, although she is in the middle of nowhere in France, not in a city. I don't remember why they didn't put a cat flap in the downstairs doors!

Of course there is always the scenario of " the humans are out lets party" and a view of a long line of felines going up the ramp. Ingenious idea, but i wonder what else would traverse up it. Rats are quick learners.
If you get one Margaid I can see Pickle at the top with the boiling oil at the ready to repel boarders :D

Wow! Super cool! I almost want to get a cat as a reason to make one!
... and live in an above ground flat, of course.

They are very cool. My big tom isn't able to climb very well at all, so it would be a no-go for him. He's very clumsy, and would be bound to fall! And the little female would just love it! But she's not trustworthy. She'd take a short-cut down by just jumping, as her depth perception isn't good. Besides which, they have to be indoor-only, and besides that - I live in a bungalow with a shallow-pitch roof! :D I would actually love an outdoor "catio" , a safe enclosed area for them so they could be safely outdoors for a bit in the Summer. And it would be REALLY nice if it could be attached to one of the house windows, so I could open the window and let them go out themselves!

He sounds just like my boy, in that my Atticus goes into absolute panic stricken flight mode if anybody approaches the house. Should anybody actually knock on the door, he almost has a heart attack, and if they come in then Atticus won't be seen for hours! Even my 2 year old grandson knows now to take a peek under and behind furniture, and will then come and say "Akitus hidin' ". Most people are not aware that I have two cats, because they only ever see the little, brazen one! On the other hand, Atticus loves being groomed. He will lie there, and obligingly roll around so I can get at all sides, for ages! Which is great, because although short-haired, he has a very dense undercoat that needs stripping out every couple of days. Toria loves to sit just out of reach and watch him being groomed, but she won't tolerate it herself. Hates being touched. She loves snuggling - but will snuggle behind my head in the evenings, on the couch, where she can comfortably snuggle in, but I can't reach her!
