Re: white cambells
Hi! They start to lay at about 9 months but every duck is different. They are messy eaters and like to have water next to their food. I use a big heavy dog bowl on a tray next to water. They also liked whole wheat/mixed corn served under water. They won’t use a house unless they get in a routine of going into it at night. Do you put them away at night so they are safe from the fox?
Re: white cambells
i dont put them away i have a little hut for them also big shed where chickens go which ducks could get access , my allotment has big fences and wire in ground so never had foxes ever , i was wanting some type of feeder that will last a day incase i cant get to allotment also strangly think its layed a egg today are the yokes really thick and dence , the egg was on floor can i get them laying else where as i put 3 pot duck eggs in there hut and my chickens are laying there now lol

Re: white cambells
The white Campbell’s are not really good nesters and can sometimes just lay eggs where they stand and sort of not notice. They are not as fastidious as chickens about finding a nice cosy nest. However they will use a bush that is low to the ground. They prefer natural cover to houses
they are very nervous of new things, not like chickens who are naturally curious so won’t use the treadle feeders but they will use the normal chicken feeders that you can load up for a day, they are messy though. You may be interested to know that you are legally obliged to check poultry daily
good luck!

Hi
no, they won’t eat from a hanging one. It will frighten them.
