Coronavirus

That's happened here a couple of times too, although the teenagers responsible haven't been caught.
Yesterday, I felt like a panic buyer in Tesco, and I was a bit embarrassed! I had a basket on each arm.  My own shopping in one, and my neighbour's (who's isolating herself following a cold) in the other. And then went to the click & collect point, to collect mum's shopping! Still though, by the time I had all of it, it wouldn't have even half filled a trolley!

I have to admit though, I'm getting a lot more done around home than I usually have time to, although I do miss seeing my grandsons. I've mowed most of the grass, and have been getting on with filling my new raised beds with soil. Shovelling and wheelbarrowing. Exhausting, but very satisfying to see them all getting close to being planted with seeds and veg plants! I've put a good layer of composted chicken poo in all the beds except the ones for carrots and parsnips.

This is brilliant! Great music of course, fantastic lyrics and well-performed!

That is happening to us on the buses. I gather from today they will be arrested
As or the Owl we were across the road, and have blown the pic up and cropped it. Shame it had it's big orange eyes shut

Was that your poem, Marigold? I could see it being written by a teacher...

We're officially on lockdown since midnight. Over 70s and the vulnerable are not to leave their homes at all. Only "essential" work and services to continue. I work part time as a Home Help, so I'll be continuing to work. The family have all agreed that, for the moment, only I should go in to mum, who's disabled and still living alone. Mum's actually not been outside the door now for over two weeks anyway. We can go out to buy food, or for essential work, and brief exercise which must be taken within 2km of our home. (This, because last weekend, literally thousands flocked to coastal and scenic areas.)

It's going to be weird, staying at home. Usually, between mum and my daughter & grandsons, I'm run off my feet! Now, I've got tons of time for knitting, sewing, cleaning, etc. etc.

Dau is wondering how to manage stuff for son in law's workers. One or two of them don't speak English yet, and one of the wives is pregnant and has a hospital appointment. Ordinarily, son in law goes along as interpreter, but now he can't. That appointment should go well!

Today I got an email from Waitrose identifying me as an aged and vulnerable customer (not to speak of loyal!) offering priority slots for over-70s for deliveries. Logged on but all slots ‘unavailable’ until list ended at the end of June. Perhaps they’re still sorting it out. We’re OK until the end of April as I was able to book slots about every 7-10 days but will keep trying for later ones. It also says that they will know which customers are registered with the Govt. scheme and will give them priority. So I’ve registered myself on account of COPD although we are OK at present and not in need of help so long as we can get deliveries.
Yesterday I found Poppy enthusiastically chewing a large lump of composted chicken poo stuck together with Aubiose dried out lovely and chewy. An hour later she started being sick - on the living room carpet - whilst I was getting tea - really DISGUSTING greeny-black stuff. She kept on puking for the next 3 hours losing a worrying amount of fluid but it did gradually get to the clear slime stage. When she seemed to have stopped she was allowed back in the living room where she did have some water and went to sleep. She woke up full of energy when we put the TV on and jumped up to see if it was going to be anything worth watching. Normal poos today and very hungry. SO GLAD no vet visit was needed at the moment!
Woman in the house opposite has a dog grooming parlour. Still open for business with pooches being delivered for their super-urgent hairdos.

There are a number of reports online of people's disastrous home haircuts. Your neighbour could be even busier if she did human grooming...

Pretty selfish of her though, to risk spreading the virus & putting more NHS workers at risk...

Never mind the pooches, I need a super urgent hairdo! Developing a really good badger stripe but I'll end up looking like an Old English Sheepdog ...

May decide to go completely nuts and go purple or green or blue just for the hell of it!

Quite agree with you Ice-maiden, but selfishness seems to be the norm for some people.

Dominic Cummings runs away from no.10 after hearing Boris has coronavirus.

Never mind dog hairdos, our vet is now offering online consultations (prepaid of course!) for all except emergencies which excludes nail clipping as well as vaccinations. Advice is to keep puppies indoors for next 3 months!

Forget doggie hairdo's , what am I to do ?
I can hear you laughing Marigold and Margaid.

My cats never get that far, although to be honest it's only the older rescue cat that has problems. My little thug of a ginger tom just went hurtling through the room and out the cat flap into the conservatory I thought he was chasing Oscar but ti was a stray black cat. The mystery is how it got in as the cat flap works on the microchip. I sometimes have to leave the conservatory door ajar because Oscar hasn't worked out how to use the cat flap but if it came on that way it's been in the house for some time!

My vet has been doing that for over a week Marigold - vaccinations for two of the cats cancelled, the other two were done earlier in the year.

I didn't realise you cut your hair BYM ! :o

You'll have had a good start on most of us. I've been cutting Tony's hair since 1962 but can only do one style. And it's not yours!
