impacted crop and smelly diarrhea

I have just discovered one of my birds has an impacted crop and has lost a lot of weight. I am treating her for this with no food, grit, and water with Avipro Avian but just wonder if she might have coccidiosis as well if she is very smelly?
 
She seems to have sour crop as it has now all filled with liquid and I think she is dehydrated.
 
Hopefully her crop is full of water that she has drunk Chickenfan. With sour crop the poos will be very smelly and slimy, but I would expect the crop to empty overnight. You are doing exactly what we would- she wouldn't get food until she is just pooing water. If she is dehydrated that indicates she hasn't been drinking because her crop remains full and that may be a digestive impaction, but only time will tell. Keep us posted.
 
Thanks Chris for your reply. The crop hasn't emptied overnight. Its still got a lot of fluid and is soft with some gritty bits so I've emptied some of this out and put some oregano in the water, although this may counteract the pro-biotics.
 
Also given her a beaten egg as she is so thin, but her crop is probably too impacted somewhere for it to go through.
 
It doesn't sound very good unfortunately Chickenfan. We have cleared digestive impactions before, simply by giving them only water and keeping them moving about. In practice that means letting them wander about the garden which carries the risk of them eating things that worsen the impaction. Generally it's 50:50, success or failure rate. Lightly massaging the crop regularly helps but sometimes they just waste away before the blockage clears- cherry stones are often the problem with ours, combined with a suspected worm burden means, small though they are, they won't go through.
 
Thank you Chris. She was a favourite hen so I took her for her crop to be treated. However she has continued to decline unfortunately. I'll try the worming as a last resort and thanks for this tip.
