Extra heat does the trick

Postby molliedogspabottom » Sun Feb 28, 2010 6:53 pm

Hi everyone

Just thought I would let you know that keeping the door closed fully and turning on the heat earlier , seems to have worked with the quail that looked like a hedgehog with all its feathers fluffed up.

The quail that has congestive heart failure is still going strong, she still dives in for the mealworm and as Lydia said they all like the cucumber and lettuce which I serve up mid afternoon every other day.

Egg production has dropped a bit but I have put that down to the time of year, I am still getting 7-8 eggs a day ,and last week a local restaurant rang and asked if I could let them have some eggs and the village shop seems to be doing well too, I really need the ladies to work overtime Ha Ha.

That's brilliant,I'm really pleased she is no longer a hedgehog quail :D .
A big well done with your eggs,my girls have stopped laying completely, haven't had an egg for about a month :( ,ah well, they may start again at some point.
Very good to hear your one with the heart condition is good,i've also got a heart condiotion, and i'm doing fine, forget about it most of the time,so hopefully she is the same.
