I currently have 6 chickens, 1 Pekin Bantam, 1 Silkie & 4 Silkie x, all my girls are able to free range in the garden, we don’t have foxes here! I recently acquired a Pair of Chinese/Button Quail, 12 mths old complete with cage, which is why I have joined this forum as I am looking at improving their living arrangement. Looking forward in being a part of this forum

Hello from New Zealand
Hello, Helen here from sunny Gisborne in NZ, originally from Oxton, Wirral. My husband & I took the plunge nearly 5 yrs ago at the age of 54 to emigrate to NZ and haven’t looked back! Unfortunately I had to rehome my beautiful Pekin Bantams & Frizzle

Hi from me too! Welcome.
Lead me not into temptation. I can find the way myself!
Seed mixes for Button Quail
My recently acquired button quail, who I’ve named BillyBob & Suzy Q! Came with some feed which was a finch & millet mix, are there any other seeds I can add to this, I also give them a green leaf of something daily, yesterday they had some cucumber, I understand they need some protein, what would be a good source of this.
They now have a sand dust bath with Diatom in it which Suzy Q loves

Hi there, Helen! We don't have foxes in the Outer Hebrides either. Just enormous white-tailed eagles!
