Thanks tygrysek75, your information is excellent.

My hubby and I are going to keep chickens and ducks and we need all the information we can possibly get.

We are getting a coop tomorrow, a local man makes them to a good standard, and we are making a run this week.

Could you please tell me where you got the nipple feeder thingy at the end of the bottle, and could you tell me how to make a spring feeder.

We are getting 3 hens and 2 ducks as there are only the 2 of us. We are going to make a separate coop for the ducks. Is it OK to keep them in the same run?

As for letting them free-range, how far will they roam? We have a very large garden, about 1/2 acre, but no solid fencing and I would worry that they would wander off.

Thanks very much

The nipple drinker I got from e-bay and spring feeder is so easy to do-just cut the hole in the bottom of suitable container(I had used old bucket for grass seed) and drop the spring down, pour the feed and is done.
I think you can keep them in the same run as my friend often have them together. Not sure how far they would go but suspect if there is nothing to stop them they go and explore surrounding area.Good luck with everything.

Wow this looks amazing! Your right wire mesh is very expensive, did you buy it in bulk or just a few rolls?

I bought one roll(can't remember the lenght at the moment),you can choose how long do you need and order the right amount.Chickens are safe there no way fox would get in there

What a FABULOUS coop! An amazing job, you should be very proud of yourself. Some inspiration for the future there I think :D
