Very nice, hope you have put up pool etiquette rules, no diving, no skinny dipping, no pushing your friend in.
Ours have been lying in sand holes they have made

My giant Lt Sussex has just started to have chicks hatch under her today, sitting on 14 eggs!. Imagine how hot and tired she must be after 3 weeks.

Mind you, always somebody somewhere else worse off from the weather, those forest fires in Portugal are absolutely horrendous.

Yes they are, we are in shock watching the images, especially the burned out cars, imagining the worst for all those poor people, and it coming straight after Grenfell Tower. It's 30 miles or so from us, we have to drive along the main road later this week, assuming it's open. We have seen fires here, but this is much worse, happening at night, I have to rein in my imagination.

For a a year or more we seriously considered moving to the Figueiro dos Vinhos/Pedrogao Grande area, it's lovely country up there, such a shame. Let's hope they get it under control soon as it seem several villages are still in danger.

You be careful Mrs B!, 30 miles isn't so far if the wind gets up, remember that it's always better safe than sorry. Can only hear cheeping so far, and haven't wanted to disturb the nest too much. I always thought you were in the Algarve, are you on a trip up country?

No, we live here part time, 30 miles east of PG and FdV. As you know, it's beautiful, remote, hot, dangerous but unspoilt, real and full of the nicest people you could hope to meet :D We have our papers and a few clothes packed, just in case....
