Hopefully - free-ish, chicks - Edinburgh / Lothians

Postby dominique » Mon Mar 08, 2010 11:57 pm

Hello,
after inadvertently ruffling some feathers (sorry!) with last topic, am now in the sorry state of having to move soon and will probably have to give up some of my as un-yet hatched chicks depending on space and allowance to keep chickens- these MAY be:
Vorwerk, Plymouth Rock, Welsummer and Dutch - all bantam.
these are still two weeks off, so will be unsure how many and what I get, but if you are in the Edinburgh and Lothians area please contact me and I will be back in touch regarding if anything is available!
Am not bothered about making money off them, as long as they go to good home but if I can give some away, a donation to ex-battery will be made. But lets see if I have anything first.
Cheers!
Dominic

So sorry you're moving, that is stress full,as well as hard work.
Not sure how I would feel, hatching chicks out,and then possibly trying to find new homes for them.Good luck,I think you're making a very generous offer,if you do have to many for you to keep.

Thanks lydia, it is a bit stressful. We will see how it goes - I am a backyarder, just chooks in the garden, nothing bigger, so unsure how much space I will have..
do you think I'm being generous, maybe I should sell em!? I just like giving to people that like chickens, maybe a bit of a soft spot!

Hi Dominic
did you manage to get your banties housed? If not, I would be happy to have some more banties - we are in the Borders, so it would be no problem to collect them
I'll send you a pm with my mobile number

Thanks Venessa -
have sent you a pm. I think the vorwerks eggs I have are large size (my mistake - I got excited and ordered eggs from a supplier of bantams but looked at their other eggs and got those, but later thougth: did I buy large or bantam? Dizzy! Don't know if you are interested in large fowl, but will let you know if we have them when they hatch!)

Girlracer- thanks! We dont have to move just yet but will probably be able to hold on to our welsummer and dominique birds, but no more :(
Even my partner is lamenting the possible loss of the as yet unhatched chooks . might be able to hold on to a couple (fingers crossed!)
Hatch day saturday so will send pics and more info!
