You may be looking forward to it BYM- I hope you’ll enjoy it as much as we all did your little run-in with EON. Bring back the starting handle, I say! Living at the top of a hill, it used to be really handy in the days when we could do a push start.bigyetiman wrote: ↑Wed Jun 10, 2020 8:29 am
Gone are the days marigold when you could whack something in a car with a spanner and get moving, or the warning light came on, and you had a look when you got home. We had a faulty sensor which meant the car just stopped and refused to move. Nothing wrong with the mechanical side what so ever. Expensive trip to garage diagnostic test and a reset.
We are looking forward to the saga of your BMW
Just about all you can do thee days is kick the tyre and walk away. I prefer the self-starter Marigold. Starting handles can catch you quick a whack if you're not careful. I learnt to bump start cars rolling downhill when I was at unit - used to nick boyfriend's car to get to 8.30 lecture and the battery wasn't good in the morning!Marigold wrote: ↑Wed Jun 10, 2020 10:45 amYou may be looking forward to it BYM- I hope you’ll enjoy it as much as we all did your little run-in with EON. So sorry to read this, hope your mum is ok. Let's hope it is something easily sortedLadyA wrote: ↑Wed Jun 10, 2020 10:16 amMorning all! I'm still around, just ....well. Things are all in a heap here. Mum's in hospital again, and has delirium again. phoning me in the middle of the night and early hours to let me know that she has a hospital appointment and I need to collect her, etc. etc. etc.!! They aren't sure what's wrong, but her infection markers are up, her skin has a "tanned" look that it shouldn't have, and her skin is blistering and peeling! (maybe a reaction to the antibiotics she's had, but they are thinking it could be a separate issue.)
Laters, gators! I'm outta here. No visiting allowed at all, but I'm off to visit dau.
Very much so Marigold. It shows what a scientific approach, where people listen properly to what is said, can achieve. There have always been "notifiable diseases" and I can't understand why the same process for reporting and tracking hasn't been used before. For those of your that are puzzled by place names at the beginning, RCT is Rhondda Cynon Taf - the area many people think of as "the valleys" the coal mining valleys stretching north from Cardiff ad Newport It took me a couple of muttering of "RCT where the heck is RCT ..." before brain clicked in!Marigold wrote: ↑Wed Jun 10, 2020 11:16 amThis is very thought-provoking.
