That sounds like a lovely day for you both. even if it did wear you out.
I always remember my dad's firms Christmas party. We were always given a bag of toffees, as we sat to watch cartoons, Bugs Bunny, Micky Mouse etc. Then there were games, the party food, more games and then a lovely gift from Santa, and a goody bag to take home. I also remember vividly the Christmas I got measles the day before the party, and the horror of not being able to go. But I did get the present and a goody bag but it wasn't quite the same. I managed to get mumps before my brothers christening another party I missed.

Little grandson remarked on our way to the playground that "Santa Claus must be VERY strong, nanny. He carried a big sack of presents, all by himself with no one helping." And bless him, dau says he thought that that was Christmas, because he had got a present! Love that boy!

"Marigold, we DEFINITELY need pics of that jumper!!"
Since you ask ... at last - taken during brief break in the rain before normal weather resumed.

In preparation for family weekend, including two more dogs, Poppy had a bath today. Unnaturally clean and fluffy, smelling really poncy, asked to go out in the garden. Turned out she had urgent business with a semi-flooded rat hole under the hedge, but did manage to end up more normal- looking and smelling. And I got to her before she had really got going!

I didn't take a photo of her sideways on - little dogs with short legs and hairy tummies can get back to normal grubbiness very easily.

Marigold, that is just stunning!
I only do very simple knitting. If I attempted anything like that, I'd be years at it!

Thank you. Our other daughter wanted one saying Bollocks to Brexit, but sadly, it seems that won't be possible now. She'll have to think up another slogan.

So who shall I go to this year?
LadyA with her turkey and ham followed by Xmas pudding and plum brandy?
Or Diane with her oatmeal gruel and bannocks?
Tough decision really! 🤪🤪🤪
It won't be that bad! My husband does the cooking since I had a stroke 10 years ago. Mind you, I'm partial to a fresh warm bannock!
