I’d certainly agree about sweat Margaid. But then this is a little bit more understood with reference to pheromones. At the risk of degenerating into the slightly sleazy I find my husbands body smell very attractive whilst finding even a hint of BO in others very unattractive.Margaid wrote: ↑Fri Sep 28, 2018 12:54 pmI thought so too, but they overlooked one point. If you're a bit squeamish you might not want to click this link, but I thought it was an interesting contribution to the discussion.

What a pity you didn't take her advice, Margaid!
BTW, I've found an infallible way to get the dog to jump down off my lap. It's evidently an inter-species thing (more scientific data.)

Re: One small step..........
Excellent article Marigold.
I think the reason I don't like tomatoes is they are soft, and I just can't eat any sort of soft fruit. the feel of it in my mouth is just disgusting to me. According to mother I was like it as a baby and squashed banana was a no go area, any pureed fruit. Guess we would all of had a whale of a time having this discussion in the Elizabethan era

From Wikipedia;
John Aubrey FRS (12 March 1626 – 7 June 1697) was an English antiquary, natural philosopher and writer. He is perhaps best known as the author of the Brief Lives, his collection of short biographical pieces.
"Edward de Vere, Earl of Oxford.
'This Earle of Oxford, making of his low obeisance to Queen Elizabeth, happened to let a Fart, at which he was so abashed and ashamed that he went to Travell, 7 yeares. On his returne the Queen welcomed him home, and sayd, My Lord, I had forgott the Fart."

Somehow I missed most of this thread!
"Genetic memory" is a fascinating thing, isn't it?
If anyone can explain why cats can't leave their food in their bowls, but must take it out and drop it on the floor before eating it, that would be great!

Lead me not into temptation. I can find the way myself!
