I'm imagining a flock of ospreys, formation flying like the Red Arrows.
Or did they get a party rate booking on a coach?

And I missed Mrs G's arrival too! But who was that I just saw on the Dyfi nest?

Mrs G has been sorting out the opposition. Quote from Facebook page;

'What a wonderful moment when Mrs G landed on the Glaslyn nest this afternoon.Sheer delight for everyone. It was only a matter of seconds though before she was airborne again and chasing Blue 24. She landed again and defended her nest vigorously. Shortly afterwards she left the nest and returned just over 20 minutes later with a flat fish.
Having eaten her fill she took flight leaving the half eaten fish on the nest. Soon afterwards ariel combat was seen above the Pont Croesor nest where Blue 24 had been resting. Eventually both osprey were lost to sight. Less than 30 mins later Mrs G was circling above the visitor centre with a whole fish in her talons. Visitors to the centre had great sightings of her. She then drifted over to the hillside where quite a skirmish with a Red Kite took place. A little later she was seen flying towards the estuary, but this time without the second fish.
Just after 5pm she landed on the Pont Croesor nest with a third live fish. Three fish caught in one afternoon on her first day back at Glaslyn pays testament to her experience and fitness.
Mrs G, what an awesome osprey!'

Stuff of legends!
Can't help feeling a little sorry for Blue 24, for a while there she must have thought she'd inherited the manor house.
Did tune in to see a cheeky crow finishing off the flat fish in the nest though. Presumably while the drama was unfolding in the skies.

Now wouldn't that be something. They migrate alone though, although they will winter together, OH has a picture somewhere of 200+ ospreys loafing on a beach in Senegal,just waiting for the fisherman to come back as they throw them some fish.
Some good pics on either Loch of the Lowes or Loch Garten website of their Osprey seeing off a White tailed sea Eagle

A bit :oops: that I didn't recognise Blue 24 last night. It was only a fleeting glimpse combined with me hoping Glesni would arrive on the same day as Mrs G.

Anybody else missing the Dyfi chat?
