I read with sadness this Facebook post by Sue's brother, letting us know that she has died. Sue will be remembered by many of you for her expertise in poultry keeping, and her wonderful blog about her adventurous travels in Thebus with her beloved Great Danes, first Phoebe and then Phoebe 2.
See http://www.theworldismylobster.me.uk She visited HenGen on Fetlar at one point, see http://www.theworldismylobster.org.uk/8 ... 4583515132
She had been courageously living with cancer for quite some time. She was a great character, and lived life to the full in spite of her health problems.

Here is the FB announcement.

"Hello Mike here Susans brother. It is with great sadness that Sue has lost her fight to cancer and we have lost a good person. I know Sue had a lot of friends on and off of Facebook that will want to know the funeral arrangements. As with family tradition the service will be close family members only.
If anyone wishes to send flowers I would ask you to make donations to Sue’s favourite charity in The Gambia. During her last weeks she paid for a boor hole, pumping system and waters storage system, this work was completed and brought her great happiness for what it had done for the village.
Please find link for donations:-

Hi Marigold.
Thanks for letting us know. While I only knew Sue through the forum, it's sad to hear that she's gone. I'm glad she's not suffering though, & hope that she's been reunited with her hens who'd passed away before her.

I hope that her blogs stay on line; I still haven't read them all...

Really sad news, but not altogether unexpected. I had two of her CLBs, not long before she sold up and bought TheBus.

Very sad. She gave much needed good advice on several occasions in my early years of chicken keeping. I saw the photos of 'Thebus' and think it took a very brave lady to navigate something that size down the countryside she visited. Shame I never met her.
