As some of you may remember from PP forum my daughter bet me I wouldn't dye my hair candyfloss pink. She then had to suffer a whole fortnight in Scotland with me with candyfloss pink hair.
We did have an Alice band left on the bus with a big red bow with white polka dots on it. I wore it all day and no one said a word.
I think sparkly wings would suit me, if I am Lakeside control I can walk round all day with them on and they wouldn't get crushed in the cab

Well Grasshopper, when you can snatch the gimmer from my hand then it will be time to leave the monastery.
David Carradine has a lot to answer for! :D

I love the way the conversation winds its way through a maze of associations. Just like it used to in the Dust Bath on PP Forum - it feels as if things have settled down on here.
Yes, who is David Carradine?

Bit like life, you just get sorted and it sends you off in another direction.
David Carradine was an actor in martial arts films and Kung Fu TV series, which was in the 80's I think. Now I am wondering if he was related to the actor John Carradine.

He was also the number 1 baddie in the first series of North and South. I seem to remember Patrick Swayze ended up killing him after he found he had cruelly beaten and drugged Lesley Anne Down, the rotter!.

He was pretty rough in his real life too having numerous convictions and finally killing himself as a result of autoerotic asphyxiation. So probably not the kind of guy you would want babysitting your grandchildren.
Nevertheless he was brilliant in the series Kung Fu which was shown in the 70s and, despite it's name, was not about Bruce Lee style fighting but was about a mans spiritual journey.
Corny or not it set me on a spiritual journey which continues to this day.
"Grasshopper, when you can snatch the pebble from my hand it will be time to leave the monastery" was one of the immortal lines from this series which was a metaphor for when you have learnt everything from me (the Shaolin priest) then you must go out into the world and live a new life.

I remember the immortal word "grasshopper" being used a lot around the time of the series. I can see the shaolin priest clearly. Shame his own life wasn't as peaceful.
Glad it inspired you Hen-Gen
