The driver said he would have been happy to let it on for nothing if only the person had offered him some. Some of the other passengers were a bit squeamish about it being on the parcel shelf next to their shopping, strange lot

No ethical objection but I've never (knowingly) eaten equine flesh. I understand that some high quality salami is made from donkeys. Wouldn't mind trying it.
