Today I start saving eggs for my once in a year hatching. Will set the eggs on March 21st. I’ve been impressed by the two birds that I hatched last year that combine the blue gene, the silver gene, the barring gene and the slow feathering gene. So hope to hatch a lot more of them this year. Sorry to be nerdy about this but it’s what gets me up in the morning.
OK, I admit it, I’m an unreconstructed nerd!

Not nerdy at all, well known that having an interest, leads to better well being.
Look forward to hearing all about the progress, and pics of course

Very interesting HenGen.
How's the anti-starling feeder getting on?

It works fine. But I’m so terrified that it might fail and leave the birds hungry so I go down at the preset times to ensure it works. Also when the battery runs out it loses all its settings and you have to reset it.
On the plus side the starlings have not rumbled it yet!
