Re: Coronavirus

Today I’m in bed, shivery, with a temperature climbing to40C, waiting for a call back from 111 online doctor. So may not be online here for a while. Hope you’re all OK. xx I was so sad to read this tonight, having not been on the forum for several days and now I am relieved it wasn't anything sinis...

Re: Cheery Pics

LadyA how lucky you had the echium appear in your grounds! As Margaid stated, the garden centres know how to charge for them! I don't understand why people dislike them. They're magnificent. Well, I know I planted a few more bits and bobs in the front garden border, but I am struggling to identify a...

Re: 3 year old hen mouth breathing?

Hi Gemma I find Westgate Labs are useful if you want an idea of the worm burden. You send a poop specimen and they text you or email you the outcome. Worth doing, even if its a one-off. I worm mine for a week, then send the poop sample to check it has been effective. https://www.westgatelabs.co.uk/s...

Re: Cheery Pics

Now I have googled the Gunnera, I can safely say to my ignorant husband it is NOT rhubarb!! :-) We see quite a lot near the streams when out walking! The dreaded giant hogweed is out in force, too. My favourite huge plant is the echium. I also saw one of those last year, but had no idea what it was ...

Re: Cheery Pics

BYM those trees are soooo gorgeous. They remind me of wisteria. It must be incredible to see these in 'real life'. I love this time of year, with all the blossom. Even the hawthorn is truly beautiful. My Mum gave me a cutting in summer 2018 and 2019 from her tree. It's called Abutilon. They grow hug...

Re: Coronavirus

Yesterday, on Facebook, parents were complaining that they did not want to send their children back to school as they would not be allowed to play with their friends or get a hug from the teacher, if they fell over, for example! Also, that the classrooms, where desks were seperated so each child coul...

LadyA,I forget, where are you located? Isn't it interesting how the lockdown is so variable? Im sure your SIL will be pleased to get his business going again. Cannot imagine how difficult these times are for people with mortgages and families. For us, in England (East Midlands), it's meet up with 1 p...

Re: Eggbound?

Hi Shadrach and Marigold, I am now updating. This morning, Barbie was still with us I am pleased to say. I called a vet, but they told me they could not see her until tomorow at 6pm!! I then recalled that at the top of our lane is a lady with a noah's ark of different farm animals, ducks, geese and ...

Re: Eggbound?

I'm just updating again, as I have been tryimg to google all the symptoms. Late morning I decided to check her crop. It seemed like it had a large hard lump, golf ball size, so I did what the google mania said and massaged it for a few minutes, then left her in peace. An hour later my OH did the sam...
