Eglu Go Up

Huge favour to ask please!!?? If anyone on here has an Eglu Go Up, please would you give me the exact dimentions in cm of the 2m run MINUS the fox-proof skirt? I know this sounds like the answer should be 200cm x whatever the width is, but I've got a feeling it's less than that... Thank you as ever....

Re: Is it wise to mix bantam breeds?

Once again, thank you all! They would all be coming from the same place, all roughly the same age, on the same day so I'm presuming will all be in the same transport box on the way home, and all being put into the same clean fresh new coop. I'm almost 98% sure I'm going with all Pekins, but being a ...

Is it wise to mix bantam breeds?

Still researching before buying, and I was just wanting your opinions please...

Would it be wise to mix Welbar bantams, Plymouth Rock bantams and Pekins?

I can't decide which I prefer...

Many thanks as always...

Re: Bantam breed recommendations please?

Thank you all for your honest advice! Presently, I'm thinking of sticking with my gut instinct and getting four pekins at some point in the spring, as I really do love them (I think they look like teapots!! :D ). I think our garden wouldn't be right for hybrids, and what I really want are a few pets...

Boat sealant?

I saw a video online last night by a chap who's company makes wooden coops, and he recommended painting the inside with some kind of boat sealant to make washing out easier, and I presume to aid the fight against red mite... Anyone come across this? And, if so, what brand? Does it affect ventilation?

Re: Solway coops and runs

Yes, I was thinking of having a max of four bantams, but now I'm considering hybrids, I think a max of three for the time being. I've also got to take my children into consideration with regards to the chicken poop mess in the garden. So I think three will be plenty... For now.... ;) Just need some ...

Re: Solway coops and runs

Does anyone know anything good or bad about Arkus plastic coops please? Father Christmas might finally be persuaded to bring me a new coop so long as he doesn't have to bring me any more Christmas or birthday presents for the next three years! Oh Lorks! I've never seen these before. Yet another cho...

Re: Bantam breed recommendations please?

Oh heavens! Now I'm confused hahahaha!! I've just been looking up the hybrids available at my nearest place, and I quite like the look of the Amber Star, Buff Barred, Black Rhode and Sussex Star. All come vaccinated and like you say, are cheaper than the pure breeds... We do have lots of foxes unfor...

Re: Solway coops and runs

Gosh, I had no idea about that!! But I suppose it makes sense... So would you suggest I kept the set up in one place, disconnected the run once a week, and gave the floor a good disinfect??
