Re: Eau de wimbledon

I'm of similar mind to BYM, didn't mind tennis in the 80's, but as the rackets have got better and the players have got bigger the power on the court now makes it too stop start a game for my liking. For a one on one sport I prefer boxing, though I don't enjoy that as much as I once did either. Are...

Re: Eau de wimbledon

It is my custom to come in and settle down with a cafatierre to watch the Politics Show at mid-day. Oh no - it's been cancelled so that sad losers can watch grown men knock a ball backwards and forwards over a net for hours at a time!

Dual Purpose Breed

Last night a neighbour of mine asked me to recommend a breed of chicken. He wants plenty of eggs but also wants to rear the males for meat.
I'm minded to suggest White Wyandottes. Would anyone suggest other breeds and also does anyone know of a breeder of a production strain of White Wyandottes?

Years ago when I kept terriers and had them die people would ask me where I had buried them. My reply ...

Re: They walk amongst us.

Precisely, BYT. There used to be a thing called natural selection that prevented the physically or mentally weak from reaching breeding age.
But now ???

Re: I'm back!

My experience too. But I go into my hen shed during the day and starlings are like a swarm of locusts. I can only assume that they have discovered that en masse they can access the treadle feeders. Certainly the food is going down at a ridiculous rate. Never had this before. Planning to leave the he...

Re: Big Bomber The Momma

Well I'm really interested to see how the chicks feather out. Genetics has been a life long passion from which I continue to learn. Can I just confirm that he is a white Russian Orloff?

Dark? Oh I remember that. It's something that will start happening about mid July. Good job I have heavy curtains with black out linings.
