Re: Thoughts on dogs and chickens

Oh for well trained dogs. But every dog is well trained to the day it isn’t. This was really brought home to me twice three years ago. 1) A crofting neighbour has a bunch of collies but bought a Border Terrier as a dog for his son. Re: To hatch or not to hatch...

All shades of opinion and all are correct. Whether to hatch, whether to use a broody or an incubator, whether to buy autosexing or sex linked eggs, whether you are mentally up to destroying the cockerels. Personally hatching is one of the highlights of the year, livestock wise. Also I have sold some...

Exciting times. With global warming all sorts of things are moving north. Saw my first Red Admirals here a month ago.
I was intrigued when bym itemised all those strange ibis/heron/stork species that have taken up residence in the south.
I’m hoping for wildebeests on the South Downs.

About coming out as a teacher - see https://www.theguardian.com/education/2019/aug/20/i-dont-blame-any-teacher-for-not-coming-out-as-gay A very helpful account for those who are thinking about coming out. Most of us who are gay of...

Re: Youth Values

We have a posh modern toilet block in town that is a pleasure to use. And no problems at all because it has an attendant. Now there’s a novel idea?
