Re: Doh!!!

Just find the symbol anywhere online or from another document Hen Gen - Cut and paste (may need to change the font and size afterwards.) There are ways, key combos, character tables etc. but good old cut and paste works every time. i.e. ♂ Male Symbol ♂ ♀ Female Symbol ♀ from Tweetiepie's...

Re: Red stop

I think your right there. You could almost do with a dust bath on wheels. If the soil in there is quite sandy and free draining then it shouldn't be out of service for long after a downpour and its best not bone dry anyway.

Re: Red stop

They certainly don't like metals. They are creatures of wood and bark on tree branches. They don't seem to like plastic either judging by the lack of mite in plastic coops like an egloo. I used aluminium tube to make posts under the perch. They have beer bottle caps at the bottom to contain some dia...

Re: Red stop

Sorry, Im trawling unread posts but this is close to my heart! Red mite wont cross diatom or aluminium (prob other metals but ali I know0. Blackbird duets

Does anyone have any idea what these blackbirds are doing?
It sounds like a musical contest with each listening to the other's phrases and trying to outdo it - a bit like a rap jam contest!

Re: Thermometers

You can get medical digital thermometers very cheaply from the supermarket (for measuring baby's temp etc.) The range is very limited (32 to 40 degC or something like that) but they have to be reliable to the tolerance printed on the box and should be good enough for calibration.
