Re: Happy Christmas to all of my forum friends

Happy New year everyone. Hope you've spent the evening the way you wanted.

Any new year's resolutions that anyone cares to admit to?

Re: Happy Christmas to all of my forum friends

Oh, but that's my idea of bliss! Being able to go to the crib service, then Midnight Mass, then to the service on Christmas morning! It's the only time I get to go to church more than once in 24 hours without my husband saying I'm "obsessed"!

Re: Recipes

Ive just started a batch of Staffordshire Oatcakes (to use up some surplus flour that has been around too long). Usually make 40-50 of them in a go and freeze them. Have a funny feeling I might have posted this in a previous thread, but here goes: 500g Wholemeal flour 500g Plain porridge oats Need ...

Happy Christmas to all of my forum friends

:-)99 As I don't have any of your addresses, I've made a donation to Porchlight on your behalf, instead of sending cards. In the past I've bought Oxfam Unwrapped chickens, goats & mozzie nets, but this year I'm supporting the wonderful girls & guys who help the homeless people of Kent. I hope you ap...

Re: Avoiding faux pas at the Christmas dinner table.

It's sooooo nice to be "normal" and not have to worry about any of that nonsense. I agree with not bothering with makeup though!!

Re: Card fraud

If anyone else gets through your front door, I'd suggest either not offering them anything to drink (they'll get thirsty after all that sales patter) or filling them with cups of tea & then directing them to a mythical outside toilet & not letting them back in!!!

Re: Cat deterrent- 1st post!

Hi Josh & welcome.
I'd echo everything that Marigold's just said. You're fortunate that the cat has shown up before a fox or badger.

Re: Card fraud

I had some trouble with Nat West several years ago & had to spend a lot of time on the phone with them, forever being put on hold, then transferred from one call centre to another. After one call a member of staff rang me back. Rather than give my card or account details, I took their name & went al...

Re: Whatever

Hi MadBadger. Please don't forget that your hens do need at least 2 square metres of run each as a minimum, so your 4 square metres will only really be big enough for a couple of hens. Once you've built them a fox proof extension, you'll be able to get some more. More space isn't s problem, but too ...

Re: Whatever

Hmm. Tempting... Not sure the farmer next door would be so keen though. He's happy for the hens to glean in his field, but wallabies probably eat a lot more! Keeping wallabies has got to be easier than getting my husband to mow the lawn :-)
