Re: Help with Best way to reintegrate separated poorly chicken

Hello again, just wanted to update you. On Sunday night I popped Betty in the coop on a perch behind the others once they had all settled for the night. When I got up on Monday and let them out it was almost as if nothing had happened! I saw her getting pushed away from the food and water a couple o...

Re: Help with Best way to reintegrate separated poorly chicken

Ahh, thank you Marigold! At the moment she’s sleeping at night in the dog cage as I fear that roosting overnight on the perch would be hard going on her foot/leg. Vet said it’s best to keep her on the flat while she’s limping badly. So, I guess until her lameness improves somewhat I’d better keep he...

Help with Best way to reintegrate separated poorly chicken

Hi everyone, a bit of help needed please! I’ve had to separate one of my hybrids, Betty, from the other four since last Thursday when my friend’s dog slipped the lead in the garden and freaked them all out. The dog didn’t get anywhere near any of the chickens but they had never seen her before and b...

Re: Allergy....aarrrgghhh!!!

Thank you Lady A and Marigold. If I don’t make any improvements with my symptoms on Beconase I will be back in touch with the GP for a referral to the respiratory team at the hospital, as I can’t go on like this every day. I do get breathless, but mainly my chest feels tight (like someone is sat on ...

Re: Allergy....aarrrgghhh!!!

Oh thank you Diane. I have some beconase and I am planning on trying that this week. I haven’t so far as I’ve been hoping it was a chest infection and that the antibiotics would clear up my symptoms but sadly not. I’ve just been looking at a company that does eco safe rubber chippings for hen houses...

Allergy....aarrrgghhh!!!

Well, lovely chicken friends, I’ve had a very eventful couple of months. It seems I’ve developed an allergy to something... assumed at first and for a good while to be hayfever, but increasingly I’m being nudged into facing the fact that it may be something chicken related :o . God forbid it be the ...

Re: Advice for run structure please!

Hi Tweety Pie and Marigold - yes, it seems I DID get them in time. The place I got them from were sold out by the following weekend, unheard of at this time of year. You don’t realise how daft folk are until something like this, do you? It’s quite worrying as places are selling out of feed, feeders ...
