Re: Clipped wings and red mites

Aww they are beautiful! 🥰 Talking of dismantling the coop to combat red mite... I have just had to dismantle and jetwash my eglu cube! I thought mites didn't like plastic coops, but seem to like ours... But that's the great thing about plastic coops, so much easier to clean and eradicate the pests! ...

Re: Roost Appeal

Well it's not looking good so far as all those who could have either have already got a rooster - some recently or don't have the space for more.
But at least I'll have tried,

Eglu Cube Run for sale

Thank you Marigold for letting me post this. I have purchased a large walk-in run and don't need the run that came with the Eglu Cube. I am selling it cheap enough that it'll go quick hopefully but thought I'd let you have first dibs before it goes on eBay in a week or so. It's 190cm long on its tal...

Roost Appeal

I have just posted on my Facebook the following just in case one of my friends is interested or one of their friends (it's been shared quite widely)... But just thought maybe you would do? If I can't find a home for them I know a colleague/friend of mine will have them as he's experienced in the cul...

I have tried all sorts including taken her out of nesting back with the others in the run to get fresh air and food and water.... She goes back within minutes. She's been in a dog crate , in...

My 3 weeks old chicks - just photos

Hi all, Hope you are all well and safe. Just thought I'd post the last photos of the batch that my broody girl has hatched 3 weeks ago.... Where did the time go??? Lol They hatched over 3 days, and the photos are in order of hatching (hopefully anyway cos I am not sure whether they post in the same ...

Re: How do you part with your cockerels

Hi Marigold My post meant to be titled "when do you part with your cockerels" not "how". I have only just realised this. I was fully aware, before hatching, that out of the hatched eggs some were going to be male and that I wouldn't be able to keep them. I have only managed to keep my current cocker...

How do you part with your cockerels

I have 9 chicks - 4 are 3½weeks and 5 are 1 week or so old. I've established that at least 5 are female, 2 are boys and the other I can't quite be sure. But anyway, should I wait to have them culled or should I part with them now? I can't keep them because we already have one and the noise will be t...

Re: Which breeds are most aggressive?

An egg is an egg is an egg as the saying goes. The shell is a protective wrapping that's all. Just think if chicken poop becomes a cure for something, we could really cash in. it probably is sold powdered somewhere as a cure for impotence or baldness My way of thinking too.... I had no idea though ...
