Re: Gardening

Oh wow Marigold I has no idea they were biannual. I looked at them today and they are beautifully green and full of leaves. That's cheered me up, thank you.πŸ€—

Another cheery thing is that today I saw a red admiral butterfly on my laurel bush. How odd.

Re: Gardening

Belated Happy New Year everyone! Back at work last week and fallen foul to a cough, stomach pains and to top it all, today I've developed a full blown cold. Not had one for 15years or more. Anyway, that aside I shall be asking you green fingered peeps much advice, as I don't appear to have much know...

Re: Happy Christmas to all of my forum friends

Oh that made me laugh. Bergamot. I've even seen the stuff in Mark's and Spencer's. Seems anything with bergamot has a minimum Β£50 price tag. The other one is OUD. Oud??? You mean wood, said I, to the toffee nosed assistant in House of Fraser.!! Plenty of that in the forest πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

Hope everyone has a lovely Christmas Day and best wishes for 2019. May we all be egg bound from an abundance of them. 😁

LadyA it doesn't matter about the bad weather when you're in a lovely hot tub, even if it is snowing. It's great. I just hope my chickens will be warm and dry. They are off to the chicken lady in the woods, again. πŸ₯😁 She looked after them well, last time they went.

Re: Avoiding faux pas at the Christmas dinner table.

Wow Lady A, you must be VERY posh indeed 😁. My OH doesn't drink alcohol either and he only drinks green tea and rebush, too. Marigold, I stopped enjoying Christmas many years ago, it was only good when my children were very young. Nowadays, for me, it is meaningless. Oh and me will be having 5 days ...

2 out of the list for me. 😁 I have a job and my OH is my best friend and 17 years my senior.
Im not a wine drinker. Wouldn't know chardonnay from Champagne. How awfully vulgar of me to admit that πŸ˜‚ . Id rather have the Yorkshire tea...and a hob nob 😁

Re: Cat deterrent- 1st post!

What about electric poultry fencing? That should keep all cats and foxes out and the hens in. Because it is made of mesh, you could perhaps use it as a roof aswell? Just a thought....but I think it is pricey.
