I have comfrey in my garden, hens have never been interested in it, unlike my geraniums which appear to be the hen equivalent of a bar of Dairy Milk lol.

I must have thick wild birds, haven’t seen any taking food from the feeder, it’s mainly Woodies and Pheasants we have here.

I have a treadle feeder and love it, it did take a while for the hens to get used to it, and yes they did get a fright at first, but depending on what make you get , it does come with little bolts you can put in so it limits how much the flap opens until they get used to it. Hello from deepest darkest Fife 👋🏻
Real names Jane, have kept hens for around 10 years, hoping to be branching out into duck keeping this year with some Runner’s.
As well as Poultry, I also own three Selkirk Rex cats and a Wirehaired Viszla.
