Re: What an Honour

Oh, sorry, you mean my real dog? It will probably stay at home on it’s satin cushion eating Maltesers. And laughing at peasant dogs that have to work for a living?! It is an honour to be asked to do something like that though, isn't it?! Of course, it brings to mind that episode of All Creatures Gr...

Re: Climate emergency

It's a little late for the cuckoo, isn't it? But I distinctly heard one yesterday! We used to get them here, but I haven't heard any for the last four or five years until yesterday!

Re: Climate emergency

Well, there's also hedge cutting in late Spring/early Summer, Marigold, when birds are nesting. It's illegal here from mid February to I think August. But I saw kilometers of hedges here that were cut end of March to mid April. I actually ended up tearful one day driving a narrow country road where ...

Re: Climate emergency

I was just remarking to someone on FB that in the 20 years I've been in this house, the storms we get every year have gotten noticeably stronger and more frequent than they used to be. It can get quite nerve wracking here at times. We were talking about solar panels on the roof, and while I'd love t...

Re: Busy, busy!

Oh gosh, I didn't realise how seriously bad she was. Cannot even imagine that, when its supposed to be a joyful experience. I wonder if anyone's pregnancies have ever been a "walk in the park". Hope she is better soon. Well that's what I mean - these days, dealing with it was a pretty routine medic...

Re: Busy, busy!

Biscuits did help in the beginning. And the sickness is not nearly as bad now. When I was expecting her, I was eventually put on medication to stop me vomiting because instead of gaining weight with the pregnancy, I lost almost two stone! But now with Dau, it's the other issues. Seems she's got thre...

Re: Busy, busy!

I thought the busyness would abate once dau & fam had moved in to their new home. Nope! Dau is expecting their 2nd baby toward the end of October, so a good while to go yet. But things have been "complicated" so far, and they've needed a lot of help. She had horrendous sickness, and couldn't even op...

Re: Jeans

I only have a couple of pairs. And two pairs of Winter trousers. I'm trying to cut down on "stuff", and I'm determined not to buy clothes until those I already have are worn out beyond wearing. I don't need "good" clothes, because I don't really go out. As long as I have enough so I can keep decent ...

Re: Jeans

Next always used to be good for jeans. You could always get the style you liked in the right waist and leg. Not been in there for years though. I found some crosshatch jeans that fitted me, so just go on eBay and get the same again when I need some more. £20 I wear Next jeans mostly. I find they fi...
