Re: Is anybody there?

That's sad news about the otters. I saw my first otters whilst on holiday in Norfolk a fortnight ago. OH has seen a few. A few have moved onto the Hawk and Owl trust reserve at Sculthorpe Moor near Fakenham and we saw four frolicking in front of one of the hides. Great news on the Short eared Owls r...

Thurrock must run Birmingham close on the pollution front especially near the Dartford crossing, on warm days the smell of fumes and the grey cloud of pollution is something else

Re: Weather

They are forecasting snow in our part of the world for Tues, no doubt it will be a light dusting which will send everyone into panic mode. It is getting colder though. I always have a sneaky peek at the headlines on the Express as they are obsessed with the weather, always good for a laugh. For week...

Re: Sorting old photos

How did you end up in a haliborange advert, Were you in any more adverts? The best bit about looking through old pics are the fashions and hairstyles. We have a photo of my sister with a curly perm holding up a poodle to her face, luckily my sister had glasses on as they morphed into one otherwise. ...

Re: Teamwork

Love them, the first one is a usual day at Ensign.. The right shade of blue for our ties and epaulets.
Second one amused me on several levels. On a plane theme. We have just come back from a week in Norfolk and we saw one of the "Osprey" military helicopters, what a weird thing to see fly towards you.

Re: Gardening

My nan used cleavers as an astringent and for skin inflammation. She also brewed it up as a tea for urinary problems as it is a natural diuretic. The hens love it as well, and it's free and grows abundantly in our garden Incidentally nan called it "Robin run in the grass", guess it has lots of names...

Re: Gardening

My father in law bought M in law a camellia as she loved them. She tended it lovingly but never a flower. Then the year he died it flowered like there was no tomorrow, and has done ever since. As you have eaten them Hen-Gen have you seen a Woodcock close up feathered as they have the most amazing co...

Re: Happy Christmas to all of my forum friends

Well I bet the home made cherry liqueur was lethal, home made things tend to pack a punch. Good job I didn't make a resolution to be nice and more tolerant to my work mates, as I got in to find, the traffic office day person instead of starting at 4.30 showed up at 5.20am, two people who had begged ...

Re: Gardening

You could always shoot the twitchers Hen-Gen, you would be a public service, so says OH who is a keen birdwatcher, but doesn't feel the need to go haring after some poor little waif and stray and get ever closer with a great big photographic lens. Our soil is thick heavy clay which floods in winter ...

Spending a quiet evening with some cider and cheese and biscuits then it's early to bed,up at 3 30am to start work at 4.30. OH starts at 7am.
