It is just territorial and a bid to impress any female with "I am biggest and best"
Sounds like an average Saturday night at the bar in Unst!

Re: What an Honour

Thank you kindly and yes, it is a bit scary. But in this community we all have to put ourselves out there.

Re: What an Honour

Oh, sorry, you mean my real dog? It will probably stay at home on it’s satin cushion eating Maltesers.

What an Honour

Mystifies me but I’ve been invited to be the time keeper in the forthcoming Fetlar Sheepdog Trials. This is the local equivalent of receiving an OBE. Problem is that if I make any mistake it will go down in local folklore for way beyond my lifetime. It was sold to me as “you get a free fish and chip...

Re: Fake News

Oh, brown noser😉
But seriously it is getting harder and harder these days. The reputable news organisations rarely lie but they present the news in an incredibly bias way. Who knows that the BBC is going to abolish free TV licences for the over 75s. Certainly not if you only watch BBC news.

Re: Climate emergency

Excellent news Marigold. Lots of small changes add up. It’s quite hard to make decisions about ones own life too. What one is happy to give up and what would be so debilitating that one is loath to surrender. I’m happy not to own a car or fly. But I would be reluctant to stop breeding ruminant anima...

Re: Butterfly/moth identification

I envy you. Butterfly’s are rarer than hens teeth here.
Takes me back to my childhood though. Buddleia bushes heaving with butterflies, maybe six or eight different species. Does that still happen down south or have butterflies had population crashes too?

Re: Climate emergency

Sorry. I wasn’t very clear. I absolutely do believe in climate change and that it is man made. What I meant to say was that we have to be careful not to attribute every variation to this.
