I keep german Langshan bantams, in black, blue and White and large in black , you will find them anything but gamey! They are quiet, elegant inquisitive friendly little birds and make cracking show birds. They have the advantage of being great layers and if they do go broody, they make great mums,

Don't worry, it was only an hour, I would start to get worried after about 5 or 6 hours, your chicks might hatch a bit late and sporadically - but there is no reason why they shouldn't hatch -

Sorry to hear that you're having a bad time, it sounds like Mareks and although the bird could be quite healthy, stress can trigger it off - sorry -

I'm lucky enough to have a copy of Wrights "Book of Poultry" - 1910, with all the original plates - it's maybe slightly! out of date, but it is a a brilliant reference book and the plates are fabulous

I have bought 6 electric Hens from PandP and never had any problem - one heat lamp (traditional red) costs the same to run as 5 of my smaller electric hens, (40chick size) I've found the chicks to be healthier, feather up quicker and an electric hen resembles more a broody hen - I would never go bac...

iv a paddling pond that i fill with hot water in the morning make sure totally defrosted, it stays that way most the day. im giving them more corn and porrage, mostly in the morning. they eat it in one hit. Try doing that for 300 - it's impossible - so I know from first hand they really don't need ...
