Re: Happy in their new home

Yes, I got it on email. It is worth while bidding although this took me a while to master. It cost me in the region of 350 pounds. Sounds a lot but I paid 400 pounds last winter to build an extra bit to my small chicken hut which became an issue in the summer when I had mites and everything was made...

Re: Happy in their new home

Thank you for your comments. I do hope they are happy. Each hen has gone through her moulting stage (they did look in a bad way and I almost expected to have the RSPCA knocking at my door) but they are all still laying eggs so I have taken this as a good sign. Now that I have Bubbles the duck as an ...

Re: New addition to my family

I have since heard from one of the nurses that if she didn't come to be apart of my feathered family she would have been put to sleep. She is a funny little thing. I've been told she is a cross between an indian runner and a white campbell. May have to do a bit of research on these breeds to see wha...

Happy in their new home

I just want to say a huge thank you to all the members that gave me advice, support and kept me sane during the summer months when I had a red mite issue. I have since brought a massive new enclosure and new homes which I can take apart to clean. I seem to have got on top of the mite situation howev...

New addition to my family

Hello Every one, Wishing you all a Happy New Year! Well lets say I didn't plan on getting a duck but my vet's rescued one from a breeder who refused to pay to have the poor little things leg fixed. After a number of begging phone calls I decided to take the duck on. It has been several weeks now and...

Re: Please help...Red mites

Yes I am planning on knocking it down and burning it where it falls.

I hope so as I went back to school today and I have already got a list as long as my arm of things I need to do.

Re: Please help...Red mites

Well the sad news is after a whole summer of mission get rid of mites I have finally decided to knock my Dad's chicken coop down. I have spent so much money and time there trying to get rid of the mites that I have decided that its time to draw a line and stop. So I have brought a 10ft x 10ft fully ...

Re: Please help...Red mites

Good news!!!!! I think I may be on top of this issue. I went to the chickens for my daily clean today and I saw not one mite in the big coop. I got some mite spay and sprayed it in all the corners. In the past when I have done this the mites all come running out. I spray many different locations aro...
